VIRGINIA LEE LETCHFORD

Letchford Services At Waukon

Funeral services were held Friday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. from First Presbyterian church at Waukon for Virginia Lee Letchford at Waukon. The Rev. William Tjaden officiated. Interment was in the Frankville Cemetery.

Miss Letchford, who had been ill for three months, died Tuesday, March 18 at her home. She was born September 28, 1925 in Decorah, a daughter of Vern and Harriett Einwalter Letchford.

She graduated from Waukon high school, was a member of the Waukon Chapter of PEO and First Presbyterian church in Waukon, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of a bridge club and other groups and retained an active interest in the work of the Crippled Children's Association. Following several years of extensive service in this association, Miss Letchford opened the Letchford Photo Studio in Waukon, two years later moving into the location on Main Street in Waukon, which has been her place of business since. Ed Heblling has been associated with the work at the studio since that time. A Spring Grove, Minnesota studio was opened six years ago.

Miss Letchford took many special courses in connection with her studio work, particularly enjoying work with outstanding colorists in Minneapolis and elsewhere and Kay Issacson, who is now in California.

She was a member of the National Photographers Association, as well as the Iowa and Minnesota Professional groups.

Miss Letchford is survived by her mother, with whom she made her home.

Her father preceded her in death.

Martin Brothers were in charge of arrangements.
