Mrs. LYLE (Leah Barbra Harris) ZIEMAN

Funeral services for Leah Zieman were held Saturday, Jan. 31, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated with Rev. David H. Palm assisting. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Leah Barbra Zieman, daughter of Martin E. and Arvilla (Brainard) Harris, was born Oct. 13, 1923 in Winneshiek County, near Castalia, Iowa. She died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1987 in Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

She was baptized April 1, 1928 and confirmed July 19, 1942 by Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. She attended the Castalia School and was graduated from Postville High School.

On Oct. 19, 1941 she was married to Lyle Zieman at the Parsonage in Postville by the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig. They had five children. They farmed in Grand Meadow Township until 1976 when they moved to Postville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Hale and Paul Harris.

Surviving are her husband, Lyle, 4 sons, Mark and his wife, Jennifer, Postville; Nile and his wife, Donna, Luana; James and his wife, Lora, Postville and John, Richmond, GA; one daughter, Sue and her husband, Walter Miro, Trappe, Maryland; 2 sisters, Hope (Mrs. Patrick Scully), Casa Grande, AZ and Beth Gustafson, East Lansing, MI, 9 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the LCW and the Grand Meadow Country Club.

Casket bearers were Mark Zieman, James Zieman, John Zieman, Nile Zieman, Walter Miro and James Scully.
