Clara L. Larson

Funeral services for Clara L. Larson, 75, were held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1:30 p.m. at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church, Waterville. Rev Judd Larson officiated. Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Waterville Lutheran Cemetery.

Clara L. Larson, daughter of John A. and Clara L. Elmore Ruess, was born Jan. 14, 1913 at Postville. She died at the Sunrise Guest Home, Fredericksburg, IA on Feb. 14, 1988.

She attended rural Allamakee county Schools. She married Ingvold Larson Sept. 25, 1935. The couple had 7 children. She was a lifetime area resident -- last 1½ years at Fredericksburg home.

Preceding her in death was her husband Ingvold, October 11, 1980; 2 brothers, Robert and Elmer and a sister, Caroline.

Surviving are her children: Lawrence, Waterville; Virgil, Prairie du Chien, WI; Melvin, Waukon; Norman, Fayette; Mrs. Charles (Evangeline) Georgeson, New Lisbon, WI; Oliver Nuehring, Waukon; Mrs. Donald (Connie ) Roth, Dubuque; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Mrs. Melvin (Lula) Halvorson, Waterloo.

Pallbearers were Glenn Thompson; Glenn Thorsen; Norman Thorsen; Earl Iverson; Herman Iverson and Orville Nelson.

Mrs. INGVOLD (Clara Ruess) LARSON 1919-1988

Clara L. Larson, 75, died Sunday, Feb.14 at Sunrise Guest Home in Fredericksburg where she had lived for the last year and a half. Funeral services were held Wednesday,Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran church with Pastor Judd Larson officiating. Burial was in the Waterville Lutheran cemetery with Martin funeral home in charge of arrangements.

The lifetime area resident was born Jan. 14, 1913 in Postville to John A. and Clara Elmore Ruess. She attended rural Allamakee county schools and married Ingvold Larson Sept. 25, 1935 in Postville. He died Nov. 11, 1980.

Surviving are seven children, Lawrence of Waterville, Virgil of Prairie du Chien, WI, Melvin of Waukon, Norman of Fayette, Mrs. Charles (Evangeline) Georgeson of New Lisbon, WI, Oliver Nuehring of Waukon, and Mrs. Donald (Connie) Roth of Dubuque; 27 grandchildren; many great-grand-children, and a sister Mrs. Melvin (Lula) Halvorson of Waterloo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Elmer, and a sister Caroline.
