William "Bill" Ryan, age 53, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services were held January 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Ill., with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. William Charles Ryan was born December 5, 1949, in Waukon to Charles and Marian (Larkin) Ryan. Bill graduated from St. Patrick's Senior High in 1968 and received his B.S. in fisheries and wildlife biology from Iowa State University in Ames. He married Glynda Caraker June 30, 1979, in Cobden, Ill. Bill was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. He was employed by the State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for 25 years. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and a Scoutmaster for Troop #21 of the Boys Scouts of America. He loved to camp, travel, hunt, and fish. He was a veteran of the United States Army, Company E, Fourth Battalion, Third Brigade. Survivors includes his wife; three children, Veronica, Allan, and Catherine, all at home; three sisters, Rita Hastings, Eileen Overmohle, Sheila Hoerner; six brothers, Larry, Leon, Kevin, Jerry, Joe, and Tom; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Christian.(*see notes at bottom)

Was searching it and noticed my brothers obit. Thought I would correct one item that was incorrect in the newspaper. One of the brothers is LEO, not LEON; And CHRIS, not CHRISTIAN or CHRISTOPHER. Eventually, accuracy may matter.Thanks,
