Thomas Charles DeGarmo, 52, Coralville, Iowa, formerly of Postville, Iowa, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his home in Coralville, Iowa, following a sudden illness. Thomas was born on August 7, 1957, in Postville, Iowa, to Clifford and Maxine (Steward) DeGarmo. He attended Postville Community Schools in Postville, Iowa.

Thomas worked for many years as an aid at the Lantern Park Nursing Home. He was employed most recently at the Goodwill Store in Coralville and Wild Bill's Cafe at the University of Iowa. He loved visiting friends and working with his dogs. He was an avid Hawkeye fan.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one sister, Kay DeGarmo of Coralville, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 19, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. at the Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City, Iowa with funeral services being held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City, Iowa.

Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, Iowa, with graveside services following at the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
