Mathilda Gordanier died Saturday, June 11 at Adare Medical Center, Rockledge, Florida, where she had been a resident for 5 years.

A private memorial service was held at East Minster Presbyterian Church Tuesday, June 14. East Coast Cremation Service in Melbourne was in charge of arrangements.

Mathilda Meier Gordanier, daughter of Christ and Ida Gericke Meier was born Nov. 27, 1896 in Postville Township, Allamakee County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. She married Lynn Gordanier in Cresco on Feb. 6, 1917. They farmed for 6 years on her father's farm northeast of Postville before moving to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where they resided for 57 years. When her husband Lynn retired they became Florida winter residents for 14 years. Her husband died Feb. 25, 1981 in Orlando, Florida.

Survivors include her son, Donald (Mary Jane) Gordanier of Satellite Beach, Florida; 2 sisters, Melinda Thoma and Lillian Moon, both of Postville; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
