Lester Kaeser, Sr.

West Branch - Lester Kaeser, Sr., 70, of 329 N. First St., died at the Crestview Care Center in West Branch Sunday after a long illness.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Wingate officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Masonic services we be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Kaeser was born June 6, 1912 in Waukon, son of Dan and Emma Nelson Kaeser. He attended school at Utilities Institute in Chicago. He was owner of Kaeser Plumbing and Heating Co. in West Branch for the past 20 years and worked for Larew Plumbing and Heating in Iowa City 20 years before that.

Mr. Kaeser was married to Grace Smith on April 15, 1933 at Elkader. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City, the Masons in Waukon, and the Eagles in Iowa City.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kent D. Kaeser of West Branch and Lester Kaeser, Jr. of Iowa City; a daughter, Mrs. Bob(Pamela)Larson of Iowa City; seven grandchildren; a brother, Harold of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister, Sylva Feuerhelm of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
