Melvin M. Hanson

Melvin Monroe Hanson was born June 14, 1910 at Lansing, Iowa, the son of Benjamin and Alberta (Strong) Hanson. On January 13, 1937, he was united in marriage with Sylvia Sandry, who preceded him in death in May 1961. They were the parents of five children, Kenneth of Lansing, Keith of Ft. Meade, Maryland, Ruth, Mrs. Francis Jordan of Eldon, Roberta, Mrs. Lloyd Rolfs of Waterville and Richard at home. There are ten grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters survive, Jessie Hanson, LaCrosse, Wis.; Lena of Nice, California, Erma of Florida, and Herman of California. A brother Jim preceded him in death. Services were held Saturday from the Burke Chapel with Rev. A.W. Ebert officiating. Mr. George Aschom was soloist and his daughter, Ruth, was organist. Pallbearers were Harold Verdon, Tade Olloff, Jerry Hanley, Paul Gibbs, Richard Schellsmidt, and Clem Zeimet with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
