Tuesday, April 23, 1946Mrs. Sam Kaeser Called by Death Tuesday Morning
The death of Mrs. Sam Kaeser, 69, occurred this morning at her home on East Pleasant Street, following an extended illness.
She was born and reared in Allamakee County. Following her marriage to Nelson Merrick, Alberta, Canada became her home until his death a few years ago. Her second marriage to Sam Kaeser of this city.
He survives along with two children by her first marriage, namely, Harold and Mrs. Wilford Gamache, both residing in Alberta, Canada. The latter has assisted in the care of her mother the past few weeks. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Hartley, Union City Township, and Mrs. Clara MacPherson of Great Falls, Montana, and six grandchildren.
Funeral arragements had not been completed Tuesday morning.
note: Lucille Howes was born 19 July 1888 in Allamakee County. She is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Union Township, Allamakee County, Iowa.
