Young Mother Called To Her Eternal Home

The John Dougherty, Jr. farm home in this township was cast into the deepest gloom Monday evening when death summoned the young wife and mother. She had been ill about two years from an incurable organic trouble.

Anna Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Haas of Lycurgus, where she was born Nov. 26, 1897, and was in her 44th year. She grew to womanhood in that vicinity and on May 4, 1926, at St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus, was united in marriage with John Dougherty, Jr. Twelve children were born to them, four of whom preceded her in death. Those who survive with their father to mourn the passing of a devoted wife and mother are Florence, the eldest aged 13, Mabel, Ralph, Bernard, Vincent, Anna, Marie, and Francis, a year old baby.

Also surviving are her parents, three sisters and a brother, namely; Mrs. Leo Ferring, Union Prairie Township; Mrs. Ben Troendle and Joe Haas, Lycurgus; and Mrs. Louis Zieman, Mason City.

Acquaintences of the family extend deep sympathy to them in their great sorrow.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus, conducted by Rev. T.O'Toole with burial in the family lot in the nearby cemetery.
