Clem J. Schulte of Harpers Ferry, age 78, died December 23, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Services were held Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Ann's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry with Father Louis Trzil and Father Daniel Knipper officiating. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Clem J. Schulte was born October 18, 1931 in Harpers Ferry, the son of John B. and Lucy G. (Waters) Schulte. He was married to Arlene M. Gavin February 5, 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; his children, Shirley Feuerhelm of Prairie du Chien, WI, Betty Irons of Waukon, Jenny Schulte of La Crosse, WI, Marita Clark of North Liberty, Clem Schulte, Jr. of Lansing and Dan Schulte of Harpers Ferry; his brother, Sylvester (Sy) Schulte of Freeport, IL; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy; a daughter, Karen Schulte; brothers William, Norbert, John and Lawrence; sisters Lucille Lewis and Marcella Acuff; and a son-in-law, Ron Feuerhelm.

Casketbearers were Jack Schulte, Larry Schulte, Rich Schulte, Tim Gavin, Matt Feuerhelm and Bob Harjehausen.
