Death of Mrs. A.L. McClintock

Waukon relatives received word Sunday of the death of Mrs. A.L. McClintock at Stockton, Calif., where she has made her home since leaving the Waukon area several years ago.She had been in failing health for some time.
As Charlotte H. Hartley, she was born in Union City twp. April 17th, 1873. After completing her education she taught in the rural schools of Alamakee county for about ten years. On Nov. 6, 1901, she was married in Waukon to A. L. McClintock of Rossville and until 1932 the family home was in Rossville. Mr. and Mrs. McClintock then moved to Waukon where his death occurred on Dec. 26th, 1934 and since 1935 Mrs. McClintock made her home with her sister, Miss Helen S. Hartley.
Mrs, McClintock was the mother of three daughters, namely: Mrs. Floyd Larson, of Waukon; Mrs. George Stoll of Garibaldi, Oregon; one daughter died at birth. A step-daughter, Mrs. Ed O'Brien, lives at Alliance, Nebr. She isalso survived by two sisters and four brothers, namely: Miss Helen S. Hartley, Stockton, Calif.; Mrs. Sadie Berkley, Maywood, Calif.; Ben Hartley, Union City twp.; J. Leonard Hartley, Spokane, Was.; Thomas Hartley, Touchet, Wash.; and S. Francis Hartley, of Chicago. Also surviving her are two half-brothers and one half sister, namely: George P. Hartley, of Postville; Sydney R. Hartley, of Dubuque; and Mrs. Adell Moshier, of La Crosse, Wis. There are five grandchildren.
Martin Bros. are in charge of the funeral arrangements which are incomplete pending the arrival of the remains but tentative plans are that the funeral services will be held either Friday or Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery by the side of her husband.
