Lloyd Milo Folsom 1898-1963

Lloyd Milo Folsom, son of Thomas and Eliza Ann (Ewing) Folsom, was born August 19, 1898, in Post township, Allamakee County, Iowa.

He died Sunday, April 7, 1963, at his home six miles northeast of Postville, in Post township, at the age of 64 years, seven months and 19 days.

On September 5, 1919, he was married to Alice Meier at Waukon. Five children were born to this union.

Survivors are 2 sons and 3 daughters, Charles of Froelich, Mrs. (Jean) Chester Evans of Waukon, Mrs. (Betty) Ralph Schafer of Postville, Roland Folsom of Postville, and Mrs. (Patsy) Donald Kerndt of Lansing, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. (Angie) Earl Hammel of Postville; two brother, Melbert Folsom of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Gilbert Folsom, Mechanicsville, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Milo Folsom was preceded in death by one sister (Rachel) Mrs. Warner Harris, and five brothers, Alonzo, Lee, Austin, William M. and Richard Folsom.

Milo spent all of his life as a farmer in Post township. He attended the Bethel E.U.B. Church.

Funeral services are being held at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Wednesday, April 10, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the services.
