Mrs. Schneider Rites Are Here

Life Long Resident Died Friday After Lingering Illness

Last rites were held at the Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon for Mrs. Elias Schneider who died Friday. She had been ill for several years. Rev. A.H.Grossheim officiated at the funeral and pallbearers were nephews: Milton Schneider, John Kaeser, Gordon Schafer, Ralph Osterholz, Edward Kaeser, and Lester Kaeser.

Attending from a distance were her daughter, Lieut.(j.g)Cleoma Schneider, U.S.N.R., Washington, D.C.; Ruth Schneider, R.N., LaCrosse; Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Rice, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Hartford Marsh, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kaeser, Decorah; and Betty Hayne, LaCrosse.

Native of County

Martha Julian Kaeser was born in Waukon, July 16, 1888 and had always lived here. She was married at home May 26, 1909 to Elias Schneider, who remains. She was the daughter of the late John and Harriet Kaeser.

Mrs. Schneider leaves the following children: Cpl. Ray Schneider, with the United States Army in the Pacific area; Lieut. (j.g.) Cleoma Schneider, serving with the Navy in Washington, D.C.; Lloyd at home; Ruth, LaCrosse, and Paul who is at home.

Her brothers and sisters are Mrs. P.S.Walton, Russell, Minn.; Mrs. John Schneider, J.S.Kaeser, D.J.Kaeser, Mrs. Ruby Rice, Charles Kaeser, all of Waukon. A sister, Maud, preceded in death.

Mrs. Schneider attended the Makee school and later took a business course. She belonged to the Presbyterian Church and its guild, and always attended as long as her health permitted.
