Donald E. Kamp, the son of Edward and Lucy (Eberling) Kamp, was born on November 18, 1931 in Postville, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2001 at his home at Sammamish, Washington at the age of 69 years. Funeral services and burial were at Issaquah, Washington on January 15, 2001.

Don was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, IA. He attended Clermont schools after which he began employment at the Postville Creamery. His employment there was interrupted for four years when he served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his discharge, he returned to work at the Postville Creamery until 1962 when he moved to Issaquah, Washington. He began work there at the Darigold Dairy as a buttermaker. He took great pride in this profession. After 25 years there he retired.

Don had a great love for dogs, and as a young man, he enjoyed hunting with his dog, Rex. He was an excellent marksman hunting all small game. In his retirement years he enjoyed collecting antiques and also restoring old machinery. Don will be remembered by many as a good-natured and happy fellow and a good friend. He enjoyed telling stories about his younger years.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Doris, and a brother, Duane.

Survivors include his long-time friend and companion, Marion Bulzomi, his two sisters, Irene (Rod) Buddenberg of Des Moines, IA., and Mary (Robert) Reierson of Postville, IA, a special aunt, Esther Eberling of Postville, IA, nieces and nephews, and many friends both in the Postville area and Issaquah-Sammamish, Washington areas.
