Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Postville, for John F. Kostman. The Rev. Roger Hawthorne officiated.

He died Friday, Oct. 6 following a brief hospitalization.

Mr. Kostman was born January 17, 1896 in Ludlow Township and was the son of William and Helena (Retkemeier) Kostman and attended local schools. He married the late Martha Nolting and together, they raised a family of five children.

Mr. Kostman was an area farmer and member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, Calvin, of Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. William (Marian) Bryan of New Hampton; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Kostman of Waukon and Paul Kostman of Postville; and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Emma) Rolfs of Waukon.

Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery, rural Postville.
