Death of Waukon Lady

Miss Caroline Kaeser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kaeser, early residents of this county, died at her home in the south part of town Sunday, aged 78 years. She was born at Canton Bern, Switzerland, October 21, 1854, and came that year with her parents to this country, first settling in Dubuque, and in the Spring of 1855 they moved to Allamakee, which had since been her home.

She is survived by two sisters, Emma and Anna of Waukon; a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Kaeser; 14 nieces and nephews; and many who mourn her death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Zion Reformed Church of which she was a devoted member, conducted by Rev. Stucki. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. The pallbearers were Edwin and Harold Kaeser, Ray and Milton Schneider, Clarence Haas, and John Dougherty.
