Alberta Cummings Kohlmann, daughter of J. and Lisa Cummings was born May 16, 1880 at Dubuque, Iowa. Mrs. Kohlmann died at Mercy Hospital, Waverly, Monday, June 26, 1961.

She was married to George Kohlmann on April 25, 1911 at Chicago, Illinois. To this union was born one child, a daughter Elizabeth Mae, who passed away October 8, 1954.

Mrs. Kohlmann was a member of the Rebekah lodge. She lived in Postville 45 years, having moved to Waverly in 1955.

The Kohlmann's celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Waverly and in Postville in April, 1961.

She is survived by her husband, George Kohlmann.

Funeral services were held at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Wednesday, June 28, at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Linwood cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa.

Submitter notes: When I investigated Waverly, Bremer Co. website, I found the following had been posted March 4, 2007 by Mary E. Boyer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. George KOHLMANN, who lived in Waverly for the past six years with her son, Ed KOHLMANN. She died Monday morning.

The funeral services were at the Presbyterian Church at Postville with burial in Dubuque.

She was survived by her husband, who is also living with Ed KOHLMANN. Mrs. KOHLMANN was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth.

Mrs. KOHLMANN was the former Alberta CUMMINGS, who was born in 1880. She married George KOHLMANN in 1911. The couple moved to Waverly from Postville six years ago.
