Funeral services for Edwin H. Kohlmann were held Wednesday, April 19, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Waverly. Rev. Glen T. Wheeler officiated. Burial was in the Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Inc. were in charge of arrangements.

He was born December 25, 1899 in Sumner, IA, the son of George and Augusta Merten Kohlmann. He was baptized in St. John's Lutheran Church, Sumner. He was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly April 15, 1913. He graduated from the Waverly High School in 1919 and spent the next two years attending Wartburg College in Waverly.

He married Rachel V. Miller on June 9, 1927 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly, and for over 60 years he was Secretary and Treasurer of St. Paul's Sunday School. He was a member of the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years, was a 60 year member of Tyrrell Mason Lodge #116 A.F.&A.M., Waverly, became a member of Waverly Chapter O.E.S. #353 in 1950, and was a member of the Waverly City Council for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel, his daughter and her husband, Dr. Judith Rae and Dr. H. Kenneth Loeffler of Universaly (sic) City, TX, and his grandson, Michael Loeffler, Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Arthur C. Kohlmann and a sister, Margaretha Seamon.
