Memorial services for Ed Klenk were held Wednesday, November 25, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. in Community Presbyterian Church at Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Terrance P. Hennesy officiated. Janice Schultz was the organist with Lisa Schroeder as soloist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Edwin Keith Klenk, son of Edwin Walter and Edith (McCracken) Klenk, was born August 6, 1936 at Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away at his home near Postville on November 22, 1992. He had reached the age of 56 years, 3 months and 4 days.

He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1954. He began working part-time for Nall Motors in 1953 and continued to work there until he entered the military service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957.

On July 26, 1959 he was married to Mary Ann McConnell in the First Presbyterian Church at Iowa City. To this union four children were born. Ed became an auto body technician at Nall motors until 1964 when they moved to McGregor. There he owned and operated an auto body shop until 1968. They moved to Postville and Ed operated the tank wagon service for Standard Oil until 1976, when he became a co-owner of the Crown Oil Co. He was also involved in the real estate business. For the past two years he has been employed as a salesman by Postville Ford-Mercury.

Ed had been a member of the Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, the Congregational Church in McGregor. He had served as President of the Kiwanis Club in both McGregor and Postville. He was also a member of the Fire Department in McGregor and Postville.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; a daughter, Deborah and her husband, James Heitshusen and their children: Breanne, Amanda and Joshua; a son, Kenneth of Ames, Iowa; a daughter Lisa Klenk of Center Point, Iowa, and a son, Edwin of Postville; and two sisters, Nancy Young of San Antonio, Texas, and Betty Clark and her husband, James Clark of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
