Eldo Theodore Klepper, son of Henry and Lydia Henning Klepper, was born September 23, 1912, in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, Iowa. He drowned Sunday June 17, 1962 while attempting to leap from a dock into a boat at McGregor.
Eldo Klepper attended rural schools in Ludlow township. He spent most of his life working on farms.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda L. Klepper of Minneapolis; one son, Leslie of Waterloo; two brothers, Edwin H. of Frankville and Elmer A. of Decorah; one grandson, David Klepper; and several nieces and nephews.
Eldo Klepper was baptized and confirmed in the former Salem Reformed Church in Ludlow township, now know as the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Burial was in Frankville cemetery.

Frankville Man is Drowning VictimFuneral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2:00 p.m., at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for Eldo Klepper, Ludlow township farmer who drowned in the Mississippi River Sunday. The Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church will conduct the service; burial will be at Frankville.
Authorities said Klepper slipped while attempting to leap from a dock into a boat and fell into the river Sunday evening. The body was recovered at 7:00 a.m. Monday.
