ELMER "Ole" KLOCKE 1904-1991

Funeral services for Elmer "Ole" Klocke, 87, were held Sunday, November 23, 1991, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. Reverend James Elvig officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Milo, Robert, Leo, Neil, Merlyn and Larry Klocke. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Son of Fred and Pauline (Adams) Klocke, Elmer (better known as "Ole") was born on his parents farm in Ludlow Township on August 30, 1904. He died November 20, 1991 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon.

Ole attended rural Ludlow No. 6 Elementary school. He married to Bernice C. Nolte on November 30, 1927 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. They had one son.

Ole and Bernice farmed in Ludlow for 62 years. Ole was very mechanically minded and made some of his own machinery on the farm such as bandsaws and egg washers. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and in younger days hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bernice on June 18, 1990, brothers Albert and Clarence Klocke and sister Mabel Brittain.

Surviving are his son, James and his wife Marlene of Postville, his brother Reuben of Waukon, 2 grandchildren Gary and Barb, and great-grandchildren Kelli and Katie.

Ole was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
