Leslie David Christian Klemme, the son of Theodore and Dora (Brockmeyer) Klemme, was born in Postville on October 15, 1907. He died suddenly at home on January 20, 1963 at the age of 55 years, three months and five days.

He was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on December 15, 1907 and confirmed on September 11, 1921. He attended schools in the Postville area, which has always been his home.

He was married to Viola Kinsel on April 9, 1941. To this union was born one daughter. He worked as a farm laborer and at the Groth Packing Co. for many years, and for the past 17 years has been a truck driver for the Northeast Iowa Cooperative Creamery Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arnold of Preston, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Bonnie, at home; one brother, Emil of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; and one sister, Mildred, Mrs. Rudy Martens of Oelwein, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Postville on Thursday, January 24, at 1:30 with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating. Burial will be in the Postville cemetery.
