Funeral services were held Monday, August 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. for Mrs. O. Lyman (Hazel) Olson, 70, who died August 8. The Rev. Lenwood Monte was in charge of the rites with burial in the Old West Paint Creek Cemetery.

Hazel Florence Britain, daughter of Calvin and Katherine Britain, was born on January 15, 1898 at Ballard, Washington. She passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville on August 8, 1968 at the age of 70 years and seven months.

On April 21, 1921 she was united in marriage to O. Lyman Olson. To this union one son was born.

Mrs. Olson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son Howard, his wife, Arline and grandchildren, Heidi and David of Plainfield, Illinois; a sister Edith Klocke, Waukon; brothers, Harold Britain of Frederic, Wisconsin and Roy Britain of Marshalltown.

The deceased lived the greater part of her life in the Waukon, Waterville and Postville area. She was a member of the World War I Auxiliary Post of Waukon; the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Postville; a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge; and a member of the Lutheran Church Women.
