Eunice Anna Newcomb

Funeral services for Eunice Newcomb were held Friday, July 8, 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Eunice Anna Minnie (Schultz) Heins Newcomb, daughter of Louie and Louise (Kamp) Schultz, was born May 20, 1921 in Winneshiek County, near Castalia, Iowa. She died Tuesday, July 5, 1988 at her home in Postville.

She was baptized June 9, (paper is tore, can't make out) by Rev. E. Schmidt in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, and confirmed there April 14, 1935 by Rev. Carten. She attended the Oak Hill School, Castalia and Postville Public School.

On June 24, 1941, she married Henry Heins, Jr. They had 10 children.

She married Austin Newcomb June 24, 1967 in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 children, Diane and Judy Heins and 2 sons in infancy and a grandchild, Donna Heins.

Surviving are her husband, Austin; 2 sons, Nathan and Jerry Heins, both of Postville; 4 daughters, Gloria (Mrs. Gary Gelo), Waukon, Carol King, Postville, Linda (Mrs. Terry Krousie), Cedar Rapids and Amelia (Mrs. Gene Hertrampf), Woodman, Wisconsin; 31 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Weipert, Dubuque and Mrs. Dorothy Paulsen, Postville.

Eunice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.

Casket bearers: Jerry Heins, Jr., Brad Krousie, Tony Hertrampf, Jeff Gelo, Scott Lessard, Eddie Wlochal.
