On Saturday morning a telephone message from Ion informed relatives here of the death of John McDonald which occurred at his home near Ion, Friday night about the midnight hour.

The news of his sad death did not, however, occasion any surprise, as for months past he has been confined to his home on account of paralysis of the nerves and it was only a question of stinging regret that his certain calling was fast approaching.

Mr. McDonald was well known to most people of Pleasant Ridge and a most esteemed citizen to his home circle. His genial method of daily life were highly admired, his accumulations were purely of honest toil. For long years he has held numerous township offices but in every instance it was a case of office seeking the man.

He leaves a wife and four daughters to mourn the stillness of a beautiful home. He also is surprised by an aged mother and two brothers. The funeral was held last Monday at St. Mary's church, Cherry Mound, in which cemetary his body was placed to rest.
