Everett C. Knudtson

Everett C. Knudtson, 69, of Wheatland passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, July 17 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, with Reverend Lynne Bisson officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.

Everett was born June 10, 1940 in Waukon to Clarence and Grace A. (Bergh) Knudtson. He was a 1957 graduate of Waukon High School and received a M.A. Degree from the University of Iowa in Elementary Education after receiving his B.S. Degree from Upper Iowa University.

May 2, 1970 Everett married Carol Adams at Iowa City. Everett had been Elementary Principal at Calamus-Wheatland School, retiring in 2000. He also had taught drivers education at Tipton and Cal-Wheat for many years. He had umpired baseball and softball, refereed football and also had coached basketball and track. He was a retired member of the Wheatland Fire Department, had served on St. Paul's Church consistory for two terms, served on the Clinton County Foster Care Review Board, and was a lifetime member of School Administrators of Iowa. Everett was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his son Scott (Angi) and their children Brandan, Courtni, Cassandra and Emily; his daughter Shari (Bill) Jarrell; his brother Lester (June) of LaCrosse, WI; an aunt Helen Bergh of Waukon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Shane.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Hall, Brandan Knudtson, and Cal-Wheat faculty and staff. Pallbearers were Neil Evans, Larry Schnoebelen, Charles Freese, Arlyn Fossum, Jason Bell and Robert Stankee, Jr.
