Funeral Rites For Mrs. Fahey Held Monday

The death of Mrs. Joseph Fahey, sr., 84, lifelong resident of Allamakee county, occurred Friday at the home of her son James here. Her last illness was of two years duration.

She was born February 2 1863 to Mr. and Mrs. John Cunningham of Hanover Township, where she grew to womanhood. Following her marriage to Joseph Fahey they established their home in Union Prairie Township, where she resided until two years ago when she came to the home of her son, James, and received care the remainder of her life. Mr. Fahey died in 1912.

Surviving are nine children, John, Joseph, James, and Emmett, Waukon and vicinity; Leo Mobile, Alabama’ Mrs. Francis Zoll (Mary), and Mrs. Clarence Haas (Luella), Makee township; Mrs. Alvin Johnson (Stella) of Decorah. One daughter, Mrs. Wm. Schwartzhoff, preceded her in death.

There are also three sisters and seven brothers, namely; Sister Mary Salvius, Mount Carmel, Dubuque’ Mrs. Mary Farley, Union Prairie township, Mrs. John Ryan, Waukon; Willard Cunningham Waukon; Joseph Lansford, N.D.; Thomas, Phillipsburg, Kansas; George, Stansbury, Mo.; Albert, Des Moines, and James of Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Patrick’s church with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery.

The following served as pallbearers: Richard Nichols, William Haas, Kenneth Johnson, Paul Fahey, Donald Zoll, Leo O’Malley, Albert Schwartzhoff and Kenneth Foley.
