WARNER M. HARRIS

Funeral rites were held at the Community Presbyterian Church on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for Warner M. Harris, 79, who passed away suddenly Saturday, November 14. Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of Community Church, was in charge. Burial was in Minert cemetery. The Odd Fellows Lodge conducted burial rites at the cemetery.

Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of Post township where he farmed.

Warner M. Harris, son of George and Ella Laughlin Harris, was born August 3, 1874 in Post township, Allamakee county, Iowa.

He died Saturday, November 14, at the age of 79 years while doing chores at the farm of his son, Roger, with whom he had been living for a number of years.

Warner M. Harris was married to Rachel Folsom February 23, 1898.

Mr. Harris is survived by three sons, Lloyd Walter, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Robert Ray of Portland, Oregon, Robert M., Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Swenson, Postville, Mrs. Mable Folsom, Decorah; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Warner Harris was preceded in death by his wife who died January 13, 1943 and four sons who died in infancy.

He spent his entire life as a farmer in Post township.

He was a member of the Bethel United Brethren Church, Odd Fellows Lodge, and Woodman Lodge.
