ARVILLA HARRIS

Mrs. Arvilla B. Harris, daughter of E. R. A. and Barbra Brainard, was born August 13, 1887 in Allamakee county. She passed away at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa, October 8, 1964 at the age of 77 years, one month, and 25 days, following a lingering illness.

On May 20, 1914 she married Martin E. Harris. Five children were born to this union.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on July 4, 1964; two brothers, Ralph and James; two sisters, Nellie and May. Surviving are her five children, Beth, Mrs. Glen Gustafson of East Lansing, Michigan, Hale of Streamwood, Illinois, Hope, Mrs. Patrick Scully of Chicago, Paul of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Leah, Mrs. Lyle Zieman of Luana; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, George Brainard of Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Vickery of Postville and Mrs. Genivive Petri of Chicago.

She was a member of the Frankville community Church.

Funeral services were held at the Frankville Community church October 10 at 1:30 p.m. with Lloyd Sorenson in charge of the services. Interment was in the Postville cemetery.
