Last Rites For Mrs. Osterholz
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. from Zalmona Presbyterian Church for Mrs. John Osterholz. The Rev. Cla. Gault officiated and burial was in Zalmona cemetery. Mrs. Osterholz died Friday, Sept. 2 at the Decorah Retirement Center.
Anna Bechtel was born Nov. 26, 1892 in Winneshiek county and was a daughter of Fred and Amelia Grotegut Bechtel. She was educated in the local schools and lived in Allamakee county all of her life.
May 4, 1916 she married John Osterholz and they were parents of one son, Ralph, who with his father survives. Other survivors are two brothers, Ben and Art Bechtel of Waukon, and four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Emma) Snitker, Frankville; Mrs. Alvin (Alvira) Brandt, Waukon; Mrs. Henry (Clara) Waterman, Waukon and Mrs. Art (Esther) Hesse of Postville.
Mrs. Osterholz was a member of Zalmona Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Merlin Snitker, Alfred Kruger, Roger Bechtel, Marcus Brandt, Lloyd Bechtel and Calvin Bechtel. Martin Brothers was in charge of arrangements.
