Margaret Theresa Colsch

Margaret T. Colsch of Waukon, age 87, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Thornton Manor in Lansing following a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family with arrangements.

Margaret Theresa Schutz was born June 3, 1921 in New Albin, the daughter of Michael and Hilda (Freilinger) Schutz. She completed her education through eighth grade, and she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. She married LeRoy Colsch September 9, 1941. She worked most of her life as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and William; her husband, LeRoy (Jack) in 1993; and three sons, David in 1971, Gerald in 1997 and Kenneth in 2009.

She is survived by six daughters, Theresa of Waukon, Carol (Larry) Smith of Dorchester, Madonna Baker of Sparta, WI, Christina Kindschy of Dodge Center, MN, Anita (Steve) Von Arx of St. Charles, MN and Karen Thomas of Harns, NC; seven sons, Donald of Harmony MN, James of Spring Grove, MN, Paul of Marquette, John (Jeanne) of Hokah, MN, Daniel of Holmen, WI, Lyle of Dorchester and Charles (Deb) of Rossville; her brother, Raymond (Rita) Schutz of Caledonia, MN; 39 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bill Colsch, Jake Colsch, Josh Colsch, Jeremy Heier, Preston Baker and Matt Colsch.
