New Albin -- Frances Evalena McIntire was born on December 14, 1857, at Bakersville, North Carolina, and passed away at her home in this city Thursday morning, May 23, 1929, after an illness of several months, aged 71 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Her early girlhood was spent in North Carolina, later moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and in 1877 she was united in marriage to James F.S. Goble. Three children were born to this union, Mervil and Nina, who, with her husband, preceded her in death, and a son, LeRoy of Chicago.

Since moving to this place in 1889, she has been an active worker in church work, and for a number of years was an active leader of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society. Even after she became confined to her home by illness, she remained vitally in the church work and Christian activities, and while her many friends will miss her, yet her life remains an inspiration which still marches on.

She leaves to mourn her death one son, LeRoy of Chicago, two grandsons, and a large number of friends.

The funeral was held from her home Saturday morning to the Methodist church, where the Rev. A.B. Gable delivered the funeral sermon. Interment beside her husband in the New Albin cemetery.
