"Christ Gunderson, a pioneer resident of Paint Creek township, died at his home three miles west of Waterville, Friday evening, after a lingering illness of over a year, aged 75 years. Mr. Gunderson was born in Norway and came to America when about 19 years old and has been a resident of Paint Creek township ever since. A grown up son and daughter mourn the loss of a kind father. The funeral will be held today (Wednesday) with burial in the Waterville Cemetery."

NOTE:Son's name was Genhard and daughter's name was Hannah.1917 Allamakee Atlas also lists a daughter, Mabel. Christ's wife's name was Sarah

Christ was born: 1859 May 25 died:1934 May 12, he is buried in Old West Paint Creek Cemetery, rural Waterville, IA. Woodmansee records does not show any record for Sarah in Old West Paint Cemetery, but lists a Sigrid which I believe to be Sarah. The birth date agrees with the 1920 Census information.Sigrid's maiden name was Svebakken.
