Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 11, 1990, for Robert John Snitker, 34, who died Sunday night July 8, 1990, as a result of a one car accident, west of Waukon.
The Rev. Chris Clarkson conducted the 1:30 p.m. services at Zion United Church of Christ. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Waukon area resident, he was born September 3, 1955 in Waukon to Lawrence and Helen Marie (Goeke) Snitker. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1974, and on August 6, 1983, he married Dorothy Sivesind at Zion United Church of Christ.
He was a 16 year employee of Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative and a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Allamakee Snoblazers Snowmobile Club and Huxlaw Racing Team. He won several drag racing trophies at the Cedar Falls track.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Jennifer Lynn, his mother, two brothers, Virgil and Darrell, both of Waukon; two sisters, Mrs. Eldon (Faye) Lenth of Elgin and Kathy Snitker of Waukon and his father and mother-in-law,Gordan and Donald Sivesind of Decorah

Newspaper article: Late Sunday, Robert John Snitker, 34, Waukon, was dead on arrival at Veteran's Memorial Hospital after apparently losing control of his car and the vehicle rolled in the ditch 2 1/2 miles west of Waukon on county Road 60. Allamakee County authorities said Snitker was southbound on W-60 at 10:28 p.m. when the accident happened.NOTE: Robert's first wife & mother of Jennifer Lynn was Sheryl Bloxham.
