Final Rites For A.E. Drogset

Funeral services for Alexander E. Drogset, 84, Waukon, were held Wednesday, Dec 31 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marlyn Hansing officiiating. He died Sunday, Dec. 28 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon.

He was born Nov. 14, 1891 in Allamakee County to John and Hannah Bakkum Drogset. He married Rosella Leikvold, who preceded him in death Dec 28, 1961. He married Agnes Bakkum Feb 6, 1963 in Waukon. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth ) Powell of Alameda, CA., four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He attended Waukon Business College and St.Olaf College and was employed as a mechanic and golf course greenskeepeer at Waukon. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Waukon Drum and Bugle Corps. He served in the armed forces during World War I.

Pallbearers were Hjalmer Olson, A.H. Jacobson, Walter Winke, Nathan Hager, Howard Ness, and Sven Hesla. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery.

Martin Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
