Services Held For Ray Putnam
Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home for Leon Ray Putnam, who passed away at the Odd Fellows Home at Mason City on September 12.
Rev. Walter T. Martin of the Community Presbyterian Church was in charge of the rites. The Odd Fellows lodge of Postville gave their memorial ritual at the service. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Leon Ray Putnam, son of Surrena D. and Emma Dean Putnam was born three miles west of Postville on September 23, 1878 and died September 12, 1950 at the Odd Fellows Home in Mason City. He spent his entire active life on the home place.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Hattie Dresser of Harvard, Iowa, and one brother Lloyd E. of Postville. A sister Bertha died July 4, 1928 and a brother Floyd passed away March 18, 1918 at Camp Pike, Arkansas while in the U. S. Army during World War I.
