MRS. O. B. EMERSON
Mrs. O. B. Emerson, 76, of 800 Prospect boulevard, died Sunday at 7:30 a. m. at home of nephritis.
The daughter of Peter T. and Elizabeth Cummens, she was born in Waukon, la., Oct. 30, 1872.
She was married in Rochester, Minn., Sept. 6, 1899, to Ono Burr Emerson. The couple lived in Allison, la. from 1918 until 1939 when Mr. Emerson retired from his position as agent for Chicago Great Western railroad.
Mr. Emerson preceded her in death in November of 1946. Since that time Mrs. Emerson had made her home with a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Olson, Jr.
Mrs. Emerson was a Methodist church member and a member of Eastern Star.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Olson are a son, Max, Allison, la.: three brothers, J. A. Cummens, Chicago; J. B. and O. S., both of Rochester, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Edith C. Day, Rochester, Minn., and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Benjamin, in 1902, and Edmond, in 1909, and by two sisters and a brother.
The body was to be taken Monday from O'Keefe & Towne funeral home to Emerson funeral home in Allison. There will be services at Associated church in Allison Tuesday at 2 p. m. conducted by the pastor. Rev. Byron Wright, and at Mackin funeral home, Rochester, Minn., Wednesday.
Burial will be in Rochester.
