Life Sketch of Carrie Paulson
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. E. E. Ramsey at the West Clermont Lutheran church for Miss Carrie Ellen Paulson, eldest daughter of Mrs. Anna Paulson, who died at 3:30 p. m. Tuesday, March 4. Hymns were sung by the junior choir and the Rev. Ramsey. Casket bearers were, Ed Nelson, Edward Johnson, Postville: Clarence Nelson, Gunder; Wm. J. Nelson, Ed Barnes, and Arthur Nelson. Interment was made in the Protestant cemetery beside her father, Gilbert, who passed away on May 12, 1925.
Miss Paulson was born July 12, 1904 on a farm near Postville. On August 14, 1904 she was baptized by Rev. Nels Arveson at the Marion Lutheran church of Gunder and was confirmed on June 6, 1920. at the West Clermont Lutheran church by the late Rev. C. H. Hjortholm.
She received her education in a rural school in Allamakee county, and after completing school there spent her time assisting with the work at home. As she had been in ill health since childhood, her present condition was not considered serious, and her death, caused by a severe hemorrhage, came as a great shock to her family.
She leaves to mourn her sudden departure besides her mother, one sister. Agnes: four brothers, Glynn, George, Perry, and Aulger; and two nieces. Judith and Veryle Paulson, all of Clermont: also other relatives and many friends.
Attending the funeral from a distance were: Miss Eliza Nelson, Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. Ole Sorenson, Waterloo: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Leet, all of Postville: Mrs. Henry Berg, Rushford, Minn.: Mr. and Mrs. Clarenie Nelson, Gunder: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilbur and son.
