MRS. KOLSTEAD DIES AT TIPTON

Funeral Services Are Held Today For Local Resident, 92

Mrs. Isabelle Kolstead, 92, 912 Second avenue, died at a nursing home in Tipton at 10:45 a.m. Saturday following an extended illness.
She was born February 19, 1859 in Norway, the daughter of Michael and Hendricka Nyhus. She came to Waukon, Iowa with her parents at the age of 10.
Mrs. Kolstead was married at Waukon in 1880 to Ole Kolstead. They established their home on a farm near Waukon after their marriage. In 1914, they moved to Iowa City. Her husband preceded her in death in 1934.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Rogers of Coralville, Mrs. Julia Walters of Waukon, Miss Ida Kolstead of Denver, Colo., and two sons, Otto Kolstead of Los Angeles and Melvin Kolstead of Iowa City. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Seven children preceded her in death.
Private services were - held at. 2:30 p.m. today at the Oathout funeral chapel. The Rev. T. L. Jacobsen officiated. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
