Charles J. Riser

ST. CHARLES. Minn. – Charles J. Riser, 89, died this morning at Olmsted Community Hospital, Rochester, where he had been a patient a week.
He was born Aug. 18, 1868, In Allamakee County, Iowa. He married Clara Marie Hanson Oct. 31, 1900, at Waukon, Iowa. They moved to Minnesota in 1922 and farmed in the Dover area until 1938 when they retired in St. Charles.
Mr. Riser is survived by his wife; four suns, Edgar, Cascade, Iowa; Carl, Rochester; Leigh, St. Charles, and Harold, Eyota; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kroeger, Miles, Iowa; Mrs. Hazel Sires, Madelia; Mrs. Burton Mitchell, Utica, and Mrs. Loren Echles, St. Charles; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two grandsons have died.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Sellner Funeral Home, the Rev. Harold Utzinger, Eyota Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be In Hillside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday noon until the funeral Friday.
