AUGUST WEIDA, 73, SUCCUMBS
Funeral Rites to Be at Portland, Burial at French Creek
August Weida. 73, died about 8:30 o'clock Friday morning at Portland, Ore., following an illness of three years, according to word received here, Mr. Weida had been in a hospital about a year.
Mr. Weida was born at French Creek, Allamakee county, Iowa. He was a farmer and stock buyer. When a young man he came to Mason City and worked as a farm hand on the Buechecker place. He worked for Henry Kuppinger has a miller at the Kuppinger mill for several years.
Surviving Mr. Weida are one sister, Miss Katy Weida, LaCrosse, Wis., four sons, Clarence Weida, Portland, Ore.. William Weida, St. Paul, Minn., Ervin Weida, Rockford, Ill., and G. G. Weida. Mason City, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife 37 years ago,
Funeral services for Mr. Weida will be held at Portland, Ore., Monday. Tuesday morning Mrs. G, G. Weida will leaves for Mason City with the body. Burial will be at French Creek.From the Mason City Globe Gazette (Mason City, Iowa) January 25, 1941
