Betty Hansmeier

Betty Vivian Hansmeier, 85, of Ventura, CA passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 in Ventura, CA. Services will be held Thursday, December 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will take place Thursday, December 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Betty was born June 9, 1923 in Postville. She graduated from Waukon High School and later worked at Ray-O-Vac Battery Company in Madison, WI and as a homemaker. She was married to Howard Hansmeier, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Survivors include her children, Peggy Letney, Gene (Rosemary) Hansmeier and Kim Hansmeier; her grandchildren, Laura Letney, Jocelyn (Andrew) Smith, Donal Letney, Daniel Hansmeier, Amy (Albert) Yakel, Matthew (Christie) Hansmeier and James Hansmeier; her great-grandchildren, Jasmine Letney, Trevin Smith, Chiara Smith, Caleb Yakel, Riley Yakel, Seth Yakel, Emma Yakel and Aiden Hansmeier; and her great-great-grandchildren, Lehua Hubbell and Noah Hubbell.

In addition to her husband, her parents also preceded her in death.
