Mrs James Regan Passes Suddenly
EMBOLISM FATAL TO WAUKON WOMAN THURSDAY NIGHT AT AGE OF FIFTY-FOUR
Stricken while eating supper Thursday evening, Mrs. James Regan died of an embolism. She had not been feeling as well as usual the past two weeks, but her condition was not considered serious.

Mrs. Regan, who was Anna Elizabeth Welch before her marriage, was born September 19, 1883, in French Creek township, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs, James P. Welch. She received her education in the rural schools. On July 17, 1908, she was married to James Regan at Lycurgus. They made their home on a farm near Lycurgus until 14 years ago, when they came to Waukon to reside. Seven children were born to this union. Mr. Regan passed away in 1930, and one daughter, Agnes Angeline, preceded her mother in death.

She leaves to mourn her death the following children, Mrs. Otto Roffman of Postviile, Mrs. John Stilwell of Ottumua, Jamas Regan of Morrison, Francis, Leo and Kenneth at home. Her aged father, James P. Welch also survives, and eight brothers and one sister, namely; Peter E., Patrick H., James J., and Leo J. Welch, of near Lansing; Martin, Charles and Ambrose of Decatur, Illinois, William of Kincaird, Canada, and Nora of Dubuque.

She was an active member of the Women's Relief Corps, which organization attended the funeral in a body.

The funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Patrick's church in Waukon. The Rev­erend E. J. McDonald sang the requiem mass, and interment was made in the Lycurgus cemetery.

The casket bearers were Charles Whalem Martin Deviney, Patrick Gallagher, Charles Regan, Henry Kessell and Emmet Sullivan.

Out of town friends who attended the funeral were Nora and Rita Welch of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. John Stilwell of Ottumua, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Roffman of Postviile and Mr. and Mrs, James Regan of Morrison.
