Services for Mabel Kruse

Funeral services for Mabel Kruse were held Monday, January 31, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Rev. Eugene Kramer and Rev. Christopher Staley officiated. Organist was Mrs. Judy Walter and soloist was Rev. Christopher Staley. Pallbearers were Wilburt Topel, Jason Ferguson, Delbert Timmerman, Roger Bechtel, Roger Timmerman and Robert Topel. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.

Mabel Marie Timmerman Kruse was born February 6, 1918 in Allamakee County, IA, to parents William and Hermina (Witt) Timmerman. She was baptized in the Evangelical faith on March 20, 1918 in her parents home, and confirmed December 15, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona.

She received her education in the Figgie Country School, and worked most of her life as a homemaker.

On Feb. 20, 1946 Mabel was united in marriage to Verni Kruse in the Evangelical Church, Monona. To this union one daughter, Delpha, was born. The couple farmed in Linton Twp. for 31 years. In 1977 they moved into Monona.

Mabel died Friday, January 28, 2000 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, IA.

Preceding her in death were her parents; eight brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are her husband, Verni; one daughter, Delph and her husband, David Trappe, of Monona, IA; three grandchildren, Julie and her husband Frank Henkels of Monona, IA, Sheri and her husband Travis Landt of Luana, IA, and Cory Trappe of Monona, IA, one great grandchild Jordan Henkels, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Timmerman and Lavina Timmerman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
