Two Retired Farmers Buried Past Week End

OTTO RISER

Otto Riser, retired farmer, 79, died Friday evening at his home in Lansing following a long illness with arthritis and complications. He was born May 21, 1875, a son of Margaret Swartz and Fred Riser, pioneer settlers of Lansing township, on the farm where he spent his entire life until his retirement in 1946 when he moved to a home purchased in Lansing where he has since resided.

He mever married. Immediate survivors include his only brother Ben, of Lansing township and four sisters, Mrs. Ida long, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Addie Towl, Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Gertrude Roggensack and Mrs. Amanda Feuerhelm, of Lansing, besides many nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Burke funeral Home with Rev. D. H. Iles officiating and saying the final prayers at the graveside. Pallbearers were Orville Hoksch, Earl Garrett, Art Wendel, Ed Gramlich, Carl Schweinfurth and Clarence Leppert. Burial was made in the family lot in Mays Prairie cemetery near where he farmed his entire life. Among the out of town relatives who drove here during the week end to attend the wake and funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Feuerhelm of Minneapolis; the Vernon Feuerhelm family of Elkader; the Goldie Crowley family of Elmwod, Wis.; Everett Feuerhelm and family of Plum City, Wis.; the Gene Feuerhelm family of Hager City, Wis.
