Obituary---Mrs. Geno
Carrie Willard was born at Harbor Creek, Penn., Dec. 21, 1855, and passed to the better land March 2, 1932, aged 76 years, 2 months and 11 days, at her home in Waukon.
She came to Iowa with her parents in 1861, or when she was six years old. The family settled at Hopkinton, Iowa, where she was educated and where she was united in marriage with Edward Geno in 1878. They walked life's pathway together for nearly 54 years, and now their path is separated for a little while, she going on to the home above. To this union were born six children, two of whom had gone on before her. Four, with the husband and father, mourn their loss and await the summons to join her. Joe W. Geno of Luana, Iowa; Mrs. C. H. Christiansen, Des Moines; Harry of Chicago; and Hugo of St. Louis.
Many years ago while at Hopkinton, Mrs. Geno united with the Methodist church on her confession of faith. Living for a time at Waukon, she never transferred her membership from the Hopkinton church. A loving wife and mother, and a good citizen of Waukon has gone out from us, leaving her family and many friends.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Van Nice, assisted by Rev. Clements, was held at the family residence Saturday, March 5th and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
