Muscatine Journal, 28 April 1952. Mayme T. Cottrell, 69, of 915 East Sixth street, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at Bellevue hospital, following a short illness. The daughter of Frank and Katherine Cassidy Moore, she was born April 14, 1884 in Allamakee county and had been a resident of Muscatine 36 years. She was married April 26, 1904 to Calvin C. Cottrell at Vinton. She was a member of St. Mathias church. Surviving are: her husband; two sons, Clifford C. and John J. Cottrell, both of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Thorvald Thomsen of Tipton, Mrs. Alfred Hansen of Wilton, and Cheryl Cottrell, at home; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Moore of Waukon and Mrs. John McGeough of Iowa City; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias church. The Rev. J.J. Welsh will be in charge. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery.
