Barbara Riser

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Burke funeral Chapel for Miss Barbara Riser, 84, who passed away at her home southwest of town early last week. She was born August 17th, 1875 on Mays Prairie, a daughter of Catherine Marti and Peter Riser. Most of her entire life was spent in the vicinity where she died. A twin brother, Phillip is the last surviving member of the family, her parents, three brothers and two sisters, having preceded her in death. Other surviviors include 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

Rev. DeBuhr of New Albin officiated and burial was made in the Mays Prairie Cemetery. Special hymns were sung by James Sires with his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Middendorf accompanying on the organ. Casket bearers were Alvin Aldrich, Norris Johnson, Edward Gramlich, Clinton Dee, Dewey Leppert and Philip Marti. Among the out of county relatives in attendance at the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sly, of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson, of Wadena, Minn.
