Marie May Dehli Dies At Lansing

Young Attorney is Victim of Tuberculosis after Prolonged Struggle

Marie E. May Dehli, 23 year old lawyer of Lansing, died at her home there January 14, 1933.

She had been suffering with tuberculosis for many months and although she struggled valiantly she was unable to overcome the disease.

She was born near Lansing June 20, 1909, and has lived in Allamakee County all of her life since then, except the time she spent at the State University of Iowa. She was graduated from the Lansing high school in 1926, from Waukon Junior College in 1928, and from the law school of the state university in 1931. Within a few weeks after receiving her diploma, and the honors accompanying it, she passed the state bar examinations and became a practicing attorney.

Returning to Lansing she became a partner of her father, Frank May, under the firm name of May and May, until her father's death in February of last year. After that she carried on alone.

From childhood she attended Calvary Evangelical Church, and on November 22, 1932 the rite of baptism was administered to her. She was married to Dr. Herbert M. Dehli on September 15, 1931, and her husband and mother, with many friends are left to mourn her passing.

funeral services were held at the Calvary Evangelical Church Monday, with interment in Oak Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were Paul Larson, Odean Sandry, Arthur Wendel, Harold Englehorn, Raymond Steiger and Clinton Dee. (Rest was unreadable)
